More Kurdistan forces along Iraq-Iran borders : Military and Secuity

IRBIL, May 11 (KUNA) -- The Kurdistan government Friday announced reinforcements of 1,000 soldiers for the Iraq-Iran borders where Peshmerga are stationed to guard against "Ansar Al-Islam" attacks.Peshmerga Spokesman Major General Jabbar Yawer in press remarks said the troops were sent to the border region to counter repeated attacks by an Ansar Al-Islam affiliated group calling itself "Al-Qaeda Kurdistan Brigades." They forces will be stationed in border barracks and at border checkpoints, and will patrol the area as well, he said.The group had claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing at the Interior Ministry yesterday which killed 14 and injured 123 people in Irbil.Iraq's Kurdistan region Prime Minister Nijirvan Al-Barazani had accused the group over the attacks and said an investigation was in progress to ascertain the parties responsible, "though the circumstances of the incident suggest Ansar Al-Islam's involvement".
