The Flower and the Thorn

Definition of culture: by Prof. JAMALI

Culture is similar to a “Bouquet of flowers” but made with Thoughts instead of flowers.

Great Thoughts are collected from different festivities of a nation, which have grown apart and far away from each other. Thoughts which are obscure and not readily accessible .

Every struggle during the long history of Persia has given a gift , a flower to the Persian / Iranian Bouquet of culture.

The only reason for a struggle having any historical value in any culture is when it has been born from a single powerful and great thought. This great thought gives birth to a great new experience. Only that one thought from the whole struggle is collected into a “Bouquet of Flowers” of the culture, although the final result of the struggle may produce a negative effect as well as a good effect, as in a ` Bouquet of Thorns` .

Farhang, or The Root of a Culture resides deep in every individual and is observed in the way that he thinks, and his actions in his relationship to others; the others who are different from him, who think differently, whose attitude is different, and those who are from a different sex or race and have a different background.

Culture is the acceptance of others in being different.

We also seriously need to avoid the use of such words as “Bad Culture”.

Bad things can’t be called culture.
