Students Protest in Iran 7Th Dec 2008
Students Protest at University of Tehran, Demand Freedom and Democracy
Students at University of Tehran held Their annual gathering on Sunday 7Th Dec 2008 to mark the 'Student Day' and to protest at the policies of the IRI government.
In particular the students were demanding the following:
Freedom, security and democracy
Release of the imprisoned students.
Readmittance of the suspended students.
Reinstatement of the fired faculty
Abolition of stoning and execution
About The 'Student Day': On December 6, 1953 (16 Azar, 1332) three Marxist students of University of Tehran were killed by riot police when the students went on a rampage after a student march and demonstrations.
This day is recognised as the 'Student Day ' in Iran.
It is celebrated both by religious and secular student movements and invariably turns to yet another point whereby The Students demonstrate and march against the current Governments policies and end up in violence and riot police forces are used against them.
