Iran bans horses on the border
Iranian government cracks down on opposition.
London (KurdishMedia.com) 27 November 2008:Horse owners in the border region are given less than two weeks to get rid of their horses before they are fined.
In an attempt to narrow the activities of Iranian-Kurdish opposition, the Islamic Republic of Iran has informed all villagers on Kurdistan Region's border with Iran not to keep horses.

Afghan President Wishes He Could Down U.S. Planes
Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Wednesday he would bring down U.S. planes bombing villages if he could, in a sign of growing tension between Afghanistan and its Western backers as the Taliban insurgency grows in strength. As Western dissatisfaction with Karzai has grown over his failure to crack down on corruption and govern effectively, he has hit back over the killing of dozens of civilians in foreign air strikes.
Contractor For Military Committed Serious Violations
Pentagon officials now say at least 18 troops have been electrocuted since 2003--many due to faulty wiring and improper grounding. The number could be higher when Afghanistan is included, say congressional sources. KBR will now have to come up with a corrective plan that is acceptable to the Pentagon. The company could still receive fines or penalties. KBR has denied liability in the lawsuits.

Some 315 people were hurt in a series of bloody attacks by bands of gunmen on 10 targets in India's financial capital.
