Beyond Persia,
Welcome and Happy Thanks giving, a celebration which, by the way, is adamantly claimed as proprietary by all faiths from Pagans to Christians and Jews, and seemingly long pre-dates the pilgrims (or the NFL!). Of course all Persians believe that the Fall festival is rooted in the ancient Persian culture of giving that apportioned all harvests equally among farmers regardless of their crop's yield. Persians call this Mehregan, rooted in the word and ideology of "Mehr" or kindness. So in that spirit we, at beyond Persia, continue to both give to our community, and feel thankful for our bounty of a rich heritage to share with others, and the joy we get from helping to identify and promote the freshest methods! of perpatuating a dialogue via the arts.
This month's Podcast by Bruce Bahamani exposes several genres of fresh talent by way of Iran, Rana Farhan (jazz) Tarantis T (metal) and a new find by Bruce we think you should definitely hear... Enjoy, and as always do send us your feedback to office[at]beyondpersia.org.
