Tell Me Why
In my dream,children sing
A song of love for every boy and girl
The sky is blue and fields are green:
And laughter is the language of the world
Then I wake and all I see
Is a world full of people in need
Chorus:Tell me why(why) does it have to be like this?Tell me why (why) is there something I have missed?Tell me why (why) cos i don't understand
When so many need somebody
We don't give a helping hand Tell me why?
Everyday I ask myself
What will I have to do to be a man?
Do I have to stand and fightTo prove to everybody who I am?
Is that what my life is for
To waste in a world full of war?
chorus:(children)tell me why?(declan)tell me why?(children)tell me why?(declan)tell me why(together) just tell me why, why, why?
chorus:chorus chant:Tell me why (why, why, does the tiger run)
Tell me why(why why do we shoot the gun)
Tell me why (why, why do we never learn)
Can someone tell us why we let the forest burn?
(why, why do we say we care)
Tell me why(why,why)
When a boy at the age of 12-receives a major record contract everyone sits up and takes notice. That is the phenomenal success story of Liberty recording artist . Declan Galbraith, a 12-year old English boy, is like an angel. His attractive tenor voice seems to come from the heaven, high and clear. In his songs he hopes that this world will become a nicer place, he also indicates that love is both giving and getting, an unbroken heart can’t be cured by love. He lived with Ben, his grandfather, since he was six months old, so everyone believes that his genius for music comes from Ben. Ben always carried Declan Galbraith to the bars to performance six-hole-flute and Ireland drum, it was since then Declan Galbraith’s enthusiasm and understanding on traditional Ireland music has been cultivated. Ben died in 1996. Galbraith’s first album was for commemorating his grandfather, because he loved him so much. Declan Galbraith is a very simple but filial boy. He wishes to gain enough money so that his parents needn’t work any more, he also wants to buy a new car for his father. I love his song ‘tell me why’ most. It tells me the real world and gives me some kinds of sympathy. Listening to his song, I can feel my heart is crying and asking myself ‘why’. Never has a song given me this kind of strong feeling.
is like most other 14 year old boys. He loves computer games, swimming, cycling and football. But one thing makes him stand out from all the others, he signed a recording deal worth more than a million pounds. This remarkable young boy, originally from Hoo, near Kent has an amazing voice and has had every major record company hotly bidding to sign him. Record giants EMI have secured Declan's signature and over the next 3 years Declan is promised to release at least 3 albums. At the age of 8, Declan started singing at local talent competitions and won sixteen titles in just fourteen months. Since then he has gone on to record a version of Walking in the Air which was released on the same Christmas album as Westlife and Elton John. His own album was out last autumn and it was a big hit so it won't be long until artists are clambering to sing with him! Not only does Declan possess an extraordinary vocal talent but the range of music he sings is both diverse and unusual for such a young boy of his age. As well as popular classics including 'I'll be There' and Angels, Declan sings traditional Irish folk songs such as Danny Boy and Carrikfergus. He's also anxious to record new songs that he can claim to be his very own and perhaps one day he'll even write them himself? Declan's love of traditional Irish music stems from an early childhood spent with his granddad 'Poppy' Ben. Ben was a musician who played in Irish folk bands and he regularly bought Declan along to watch him play at various gigs and concerts. Unfortunately 'Poppy' Ben died before he could see Declan's success, however Declan cites him as his strongest musical influence. Declan's parents are Siobhan and Alec; he also has a younger sister, Bernadette, who is a talented Irish dancer. They have a large family all of whom are very close. He is often seen out and about with some of his many cousins. Declan's dedication and love of singing means that he practices daily for two hours. He has his own voice coach, who gives him advice on how to look after what he describes as 'a very special and unique voice'. For such a young boy, Declan is single minded in the fact that his main ambition is to sing professionally. Alternatively he'd consider acting, either way he is determined to carve his name out in lights!
